SWIFTSURE Work Supports

Work Supports • Work Supports
Work supports automatically adjust to the proper height to support workpieces and improve part quality by preventing deflection and vibration during machining. Automatic adjustment is faster and more consistent than manual. The precision construction of these supports provides height repeatability of ±.0002".

Spring extended work supports have a sliding internal plunger that is normally extended by light spring force. The workpiece depresses the plunger, then fluid pressure locks it in position. Threaded-body, block-type and standard versions of these clamps provide 1210 to 18,000 lbs. clamping force.

The internal plunger of fluid advanced work supports is normally retracted for clear loading and unloading. Fluid pressure gently advances the plunger against the workpiece, then locks it. Threaded-body fluid advanced work supports offer 1210 to 18,000 lbs. clamping force, while standard models have 1400 to 9000 lbs. force.

Air advanced/extended work supports are similar to fluid-advanced models, but the pressure against the workpiece can be adjusted by air pressure before the plunger is locked in position with fluid pressure. Four threaded-body models clamp with forces from 1210 to 18,000 lbs. A block type delivers 2250 lbs. clamping force. View work supports in online catalog.

Advantages Advantages:

  • Work supports prevent part deflection and vibration, and back up clamping force.
  • Precision construction provides high repeatability.
  • A choice of action and forces is available.
